Short Film Fund 2024: Finalists

Thank you for participating in the Short Film Fund.

Reducing the longlist to just six finalist projects has been challenging. We tried to select those projects that managed to deliver a well-developed story that felt unique. But there were definitely more than six projects that we would have loved to promote to the finalist stage. We really liked all the ones we included in the longlist.

 The Finalists

Almost Heaven, written by Tanya Shamil

Frostlands, written by Anastasia Bruce-Jones

Monkey, written by Charlotte Alexander

Roller Coaster, written by Emanuel Nisan

Scars That Define Us, written by Edward Worthy

Vital, written by Amir Zargara & Gabe Berry

 Honourable Mentions

We’d like to name a few more projects because they were particularly difficult to keep out of the finalist stage.

Khazana, written by Basir Ahmed

Let me stay, written by Anson K. H. Yip

Poster Boy, written by India Opzoomer, Daniel Young Kim, Fergus Burnand

Sunday Sauce, written by Matthew Campanella

Teeth, written by Aleyha Wilton-Steer

The Cube, written by Freya Manor

Even if you didn’t make it to the finalists, we genuinely hope you’ll find different ways to make your wonderful film happen.

If you plan to shoot in the UK, we suggest you take a look at the UK Tax Relief schemes which could allow you to claim up to 25% of your production budget back in the form of a tax refund.

We are running a webinar explaining the details of these schemes on a date that will be confirmed in August / September. You can find more information and sign up for the waiting list here.

What’s next?

We’ll contact the finalists to get an update on the project’s status. You should hear from us starting from August 5th. In the meantime, the jury will be evaluating the scripts to select the winner(s). We aim to make the announcement by the end of August 15th.
